To divert calls on an eir landline, lift the receiver and dial *21*, the number, then #. Every call goes to the other number, and #21# turns it off. eir doesn't publish divert codes for its mobiles, so you use your phone's settings.

- Cost: Setting up call forwarding costs €0.31 (30.91 cent including VAT) and checking it costs €0.15 (15.46 cent including VAT). Forwarded calls are then charged at standard rates.
- eir publishes an all-calls divert only for landlines, with no busy or no-answer option.
- Include the area code if the number is in a different area to yours.
- On eir Broadband Talk (home phone through broadband), turn it off with *211 instead of #21#.
Mobile
- Cost: Diverted calls are charged the same as a call made directly to the number you divert to. Calls diverted to your voicemail are free when you are not roaming. On prepay, forwarding is charged at standard call rates.
- On prepay, you can only forward calls to national numbers.

Who pays for a forwarded call
The €0.31 charge covers setting forwarding up. After that, each forwarded call is charged to you as a call from your landline to the number you forward to, at standard rates.
eir business lines
eir business landlines use the same codes as home phones, including the Broadband Talk turn-off code. eir business mobiles are charged like consumer mobiles: a diverted call costs the same as a direct call to that number, and diverts to voicemail are free when you are not roaming.
Divert calls from your phone's settings
Use the phone settings supported by your plan. The menu names vary by device. The iPhone Call Forwarding switch sends every call on, so your phone will not ring first.
iPhone
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Phone (on older iOS, Settings then Phone).
- Tap Call Forwarding and switch it on. If you use two SIMs, choose your business line first.
- Tap Forward To and enter the number calls should go to.
- Go back. A forwarding icon shows in the status bar while it is on.
Android
- Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
- Tap Calls (or Supplementary services, depending on the phone), then Call forwarding.
- Choose When unanswered so your phone rings first and only missed calls move on.
- Enter the number, tap Turn on, and pick the right SIM if asked.
