TELUS call forwarding codes
To forward calls you don't answer on a TELUS cell phone, dial *004*, the 10-digit number, *, then 10, 20 or 30 seconds and #, for example *004*NUMBER*20#. Dial #004# to turn it off.

- Cost: Call Forwarding North America features include 3,000 minutes a month forwarded from Canada to a Canadian or US number, then 75 cents a minute. If Call Forwarding is not added to your rate plan, forwarded minutes are billed at a pay-per-use rate.
- Call Forwarding is not available for TELUS Prepaid accounts.
- Calls can only be forwarded to numbers within North America.
- All-calls forwarding works on any device; the other types depend on your device.

From your TELUS cell phone, dial *004*NUMBER*20#, replacing NUMBER with the number calls should go to.

Follow any prompts on your phone. If the request is rejected, check the instructions for your service before trying again.

Test it
Ring your number from another phone without answering it. Check that the destination receives the call. To turn it off later, dial #004#.

What to know about call forwarding on TELUS
Choosing the ring time
TELUS's timed forwarding code, Call Forward Variable, takes 10, 20 or 30 seconds and nothing in between. TELUS's own example is *004*604-555-0123*20#, which forwards unanswered calls after 20 seconds. TELUS also lists a plain no-reply code, *61*NUMBER# (off with #61#), which has no timer.
Some codes depend on your phone
TELUS says all-calls forwarding with *21* works on any device once the feature is on, but busy, no-answer, unreachable and timed forwarding depend on the phone. If a conditional code is refused, the phone may be the reason.
TELUS Home Phone busy and no-answer forwarding
On TELUS Home Phone, busy forwarding (*90, off *91) and no-answer forwarding (*92, off *93) send calls to a number TELUS programs when you order the service, normally used for voicemail. You can't enter your own number with them, and new accounts can't switch them on and off. *72 is the only home phone code that lets you pick the number yourself.
Forwarding to a fixed number
TELUS also offers Call Forward to a fixed number, turned on with *79 or 79# and off with *73 or 73#. Once that number is set, it can only be changed by speaking to a TELUS agent.
Forward calls from your phone's settings
Your phone may also offer call forwarding in its settings, depending on your device and plan. The iPhone Call Forwarding switch sends every call on. Use a supported no-answer option if you want your phone to ring first.
iPhone
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Phone (on older iOS, Settings then Phone).
- Tap Call Forwarding and switch it on. If you use two SIMs, choose your business line first.
- Tap Forward To and enter the number calls should go to.
- Go back. A forwarding icon shows in the status bar while it is on.
Android
- Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
- Tap Calls (or Supplementary services, depending on the phone), then Call forwarding.
- Choose When unanswered so your phone rings first and only missed calls move on.
- Enter the number, tap Turn on, and pick the right SIM if asked.
If the code doesn't work
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
The network did not accept the request. Check you have signal, turn off Wi-Fi calling and airplane mode, then dial the code again exactly as shown.
"Setting activation failed" or "unsuccessful"
The network refused the divert. Some plans block diverts to other numbers, and some networks want the number in international form. Check the notes on this page, or set it up in your phone settings instead.
Calls still go to voicemail
Voicemail is itself a divert, and only one can be active for each condition. Setting a new divert replaces the voicemail one. If calls still reach voicemail, cancel all diverts and set yours again.
