How to forward calls on AT&T
AT&T doesn't publish a dial code to turn on call forwarding for cell phones, so set it up in your phone's call settings. To turn it off, dial #21# and press Call. On an AT&T home phone, dial *72 and the number, and *73 to stop.

Set this up in your phone's settings:
- On your AT&T phone, open the Phone app's settings and find Call forwarding (on many Android phones it sits under Call settings). AT&T's device help shows the exact path for each model.
- Choose the kind of forwarding. On Android, Call forwarding-Unconditional sends every call.
- Enter the number calls should go to, then select Turn on.

Wireless
AT&T: call forwarding for wireless
- Cost: Forwarded calls are billed for the length of the call, and long-distance or roaming charges may apply. Long distance applies when you forward to a number outside your home calling area. With some AT&T wireless plans, call forwarding minutes do not count against the minutes in your plan.
- You can only change call forwarding from your AT&T phone, not online.
- Calls cannot be forwarded to an international number.
- Call forwarding overrides your AT&T voicemail.
- If the number you forward to is busy, callers hear a busy signal.

What to know about call forwarding on AT&T
No code to turn it on for AT&T wireless
AT&T's wireless help pages do not list a code to turn call forwarding on. They point you to your phone's call settings and publish one code, #21#, to turn forwarding off. AT&T also says that, for security, you can only change call forwarding from the phone itself, not online.
Which home phone do you have?
A traditional AT&T landline uses *72 to forward every call and *73 to stop, and only turns forwarding on once AT&T's test call to the new number is answered. AT&T Phone and AT&T Phone - Advanced, the digital home phone, end each code with # and add *92 for calls you do not answer and *90 for when the line is busy.
Forward calls from your phone's settings
Use the phone settings supported by your plan. The menu names vary by device. The iPhone Call Forwarding switch sends every call on, so your phone will not ring first.
iPhone
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Phone (on older iOS, Settings then Phone).
- Tap Call Forwarding and switch it on. If you use two SIMs, choose your business line first.
- Tap Forward To and enter the number calls should go to.
- Go back. A forwarding icon shows in the status bar while it is on.
Android
- Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
- Tap Calls (or Supplementary services, depending on the phone), then Call forwarding.
- Choose When unanswered so your phone rings first and only missed calls move on.
- Enter the number, tap Turn on, and pick the right SIM if asked.
