Verizon call forwarding codes
To forward calls you don't answer on a Verizon cell phone, dial *71 followed by the 10-digit number. Dial *72 and the number to forward every call, and *73 to turn forwarding off.

- The number you forward to must be an active, voice-capable US line, entered as 10 digits including the area code.

- On Fios Digital Voice, forwarding set online in My Verizon replaces forwarding set from the phone, and Forward All My Calls overrides every other forwarding choice.

Follow any prompts on your phone. If the request is rejected, check the instructions for your service before trying again.

Test it
Ring your number from another phone without answering it. Check that the destination receives the call. To turn it off later, dial *73.

What to know about call forwarding on Verizon
What *71 does on a Verizon cell phone
Verizon calls *71 its No Answer / Busy Transfer code. It forwards a call when you are already on the phone, or when you haven't answered after 3 to 6 rings. There is no separate busy code for Verizon cell phones and no way to change the number of rings.
What it costs
Call Forwarding is available on every Verizon plan. Forwarded calls are billed as if you had answered them on your phone, but if your plan includes long distance, forwarded calls carry no long distance charge.
No phone, no changes
Verizon only lets you turn cell phone forwarding on or off from the phone itself, not online. If you do not have the phone with you, or *71 or *72 does not work, Verizon Customer Service can turn Call Forwarding on or off for you at 800-922-0204.
Verizon home phone and Fios Digital Voice
Home phone lines use different codes from cell phones: *92 forwards calls when you are busy or do not answer, and *90 forwards calls only when the line is busy, each with its own off code. On Fios Digital Voice you can also set forwarding in My Verizon under Calling Features, and choose to forward all calls or only calls from certain numbers.
If callers hear a busy tone
Verizon says a busy tone for your callers usually means the forwarding number was entered wrong, often because an extra button was pressed during setup. Dial *73, then set it up again with the full 10-digit number.
Forward calls from your phone's settings
Your phone may also offer call forwarding in its settings, depending on your device and plan. The iPhone Call Forwarding switch sends every call on. Use a supported no-answer option if you want your phone to ring first.
iPhone
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Phone (on older iOS, Settings then Phone).
- Tap Call Forwarding and switch it on. If you use two SIMs, choose your business line first.
- Tap Forward To and enter the number calls should go to.
- Go back. A forwarding icon shows in the status bar while it is on.
Android
- Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
- Tap Calls (or Supplementary services, depending on the phone), then Call forwarding.
- Choose When unanswered so your phone rings first and only missed calls move on.
- Enter the number, tap Turn on, and pick the right SIM if asked.

How do I turn off call forwarding on Verizon?
