What to know about call diversion on Boost Mobile

Why these are Telstra codes

Boost is a Telstra brand on the full Telstra prepaid network, so Telstra's published codes apply. Boost's own help page lists the same forwarding types (21 all calls, 61 no answer, 62 unreachable, 67 busy) and the same ## turn-off and *# check codes.

Changing the ring time

Boost moves an unanswered call on after about 15 seconds. To change it to 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds, Boost publishes **61*101** followed by the seconds and #, for example **61*101**30#. The code contains 101, the voicemail number, and Boost does not publish a version that sets a different number and a ring time together.

Divert every call by text

For an all-calls divert, text CFU ON followed by the number to 144, for example CFU ON 0400123456. Text CFU OFF to stop it and CFU Status to check it.

Divert calls from your phone's settings

Your phone may also offer call forwarding in its settings, depending on your device and plan. The iPhone Call Forwarding switch sends every call on. Use a supported no-answer option if you want your phone to ring first.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings, then Apps, then Phone (on older iOS, Settings then Phone).
  2. Tap Call Forwarding and switch it on. If you use two SIMs, choose your business line first.
  3. Tap Forward To and enter the number calls should go to.
  4. Go back. A forwarding icon shows in the status bar while it is on.

Android

  1. Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
  2. Tap Calls (or Supplementary services, depending on the phone), then Call forwarding.
  3. Choose When unanswered so your phone rings first and only missed calls move on.
  4. Enter the number, tap Turn on, and pick the right SIM if asked.

If the code doesn't work

"Connection problem or invalid MMI code"

The network did not accept the request. Check you have signal, turn off Wi-Fi calling and aeroplane mode, then dial the code again exactly as shown.

"Setting activation failed" or "unsuccessful"

The network refused the divert. Some plans block diverts to other numbers, and some networks want the number in international form. Check the notes on this page, or set it up in your phone settings instead.

Calls still go to voicemail

Voicemail is itself a divert, and only one can be active for each condition. Setting a new divert replaces the voicemail one. If calls still reach voicemail, cancel all diverts and set yours again.

Boost Mobile call diversion questions

How do I forward calls on Boost Mobile?

Dial ** then the code (61 for no answer, 67 for busy, 62 for unreachable or 21 for all calls), then *, the number with its area code, then *11# and press Call. These are the Telstra network codes that Boost runs on.

How do I turn off call forwarding on Boost?

Dial ## then the code and #. For example, ##61# turns off the no-answer divert and ##21# turns off the all-calls divert. If you set it by text, send CFU OFF to 144.

Is call forwarding free on Boost Mobile?

Boost's Unlimited Calls and Texts excludes diverted calls, so calls that divert to another number are not covered by your unlimited calls.

How long does Boost ring before it diverts?

About 15 seconds. Boost lets you set 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds with its ring time code, **61*101** followed by the seconds and #.

How do I check if call forwarding is on with Boost?

Dial *# then the code and #, for example *#61# for the no-answer divert or *#21# for all calls.
