Mobile networks share a common set of codes: ** turns a divert on, ## turns it off and *# checks it. Some networks change the format or publish no codes, so use your network's page where there is one.

How to turn off call diversion

Dial your provider's turn-off code from the phone that is being forwarded. On most mobile networks, ##002# clears every divert at once. Here are the codes for the biggest providers; every provider page lists its own.

Call forwarding questions

What is the code for call forwarding?

On most mobile networks the standard codes are **21* (all calls), **61* (calls you don't answer), **67* (when you're busy) and **62* (when your phone is off or has no signal), each followed by the number and #. Some networks change the format, want the number in international form, or publish no codes at all, so check the page for your network before you dial.

How do I check if my calls are being forwarded?

Dial *#21# to check the all-calls divert, *#61# for calls you do not answer, *#67# for busy and *#62# for when you are unreachable. Your network replies on screen with the status and the number calls are going to.

What does ##002# do?

On networks that support it, ##002# cancels every divert on your line at once: all calls, no answer, busy and unreachable. Some networks also turn off the divert to voicemail with it, so you may need to set voicemail up again afterwards.

Can an iPhone divert only the calls I miss?

Not from Settings. The Call Forwarding switch in iPhone Settings sends every call straight to the other number, so your phone never rings. To divert only unanswered, busy or unreachable calls, dial your network's code from the Phone app instead.

Why does my phone say "connection problem or invalid MMI code"?

The network did not accept the code. Check you have signal, turn off Wi-Fi calling and aeroplane mode, and make sure the code is typed exactly, including every * and #. If it still fails, your network may use a different format or may not allow codes, so use the page for your network.
