How to forward calls on 8x8
Set 8x8 call forwarding in Work > Settings > Account Settings. Edit Call forwarding rules for missed calls, busy lines or all calls, then save.

- Forward to an external number
Set this up in your 8x8 account:
- Open 8x8 Work, then Settings > Account Settings.
- In Call forwarding rules, enable the rule for unanswered calls, busy calls or all calls.
- Edit the destination. For an external number, include its country code; an administrator can also edit the extension in Admin Console.
- Save the edited rule, then save the account settings to apply your changes. Test a call to the extension.
What to know about call divert on 8x8
Always forwarding takes priority
The Always rule overrides the other forwarding conditions. Check it before relying on busy or no-answer handling. Older Virtual Office Classic accounts use a separate Account Settings app.

Open Work > Settings > Account Settings > Call forwarding rules.
Can an administrator divert an 8x8 extension?
Yes. In Admin Console, open Users, edit the extension and choose Call forwarding rules.
How do I stop an 8x8 divert?
Disable the relevant rule in Call forwarding rules and save. Keep a fallback rule for calls you cannot answer.
