To divert calls you don't answer on a Sure mobile in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man, dial *61*, the number, then #. Sure home phones on the Isle of Man use the same codes, and #61# switches the divert off.

What to know about call divert on Sure
Mobile codes in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man
Sure publishes the same mobile Star Services article on its Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man help centres, so the codes are the same on every island. It lists three diverts: immediate (*21*), on busy (*67*) and no reply (*61*). The article does not publish a separate code for when your phone is off or out of signal.
Turning a mobile divert off
Sure's mobile help lists codes to set a divert but none to check or cancel one. Switch it off in your phone's call forwarding settings. Sure lists ##004# to cancel mobile voicemail and **004*171# to turn it back on.
Home phones in Jersey and Guernsey
Sure's Jersey and Guernsey help centres don't publish divert codes for home phones. In Jersey, Sure says its home phone service comes with Call Divert at no extra cost, so ask Sure to set it up or for the codes to use.
Home voicemail on the Isle of Man
Home voicemail on a Sure Isle of Man line works as a divert to 171, for example *61*171# for calls you do not answer. A divert to another number for the same type of call takes its place, and dialling the voicemail code again brings voicemail back.
Divert calls from your phone's settings
Your phone may also offer call forwarding in its settings, depending on your device and plan. The iPhone Call Forwarding switch sends every call on. Use a supported no-answer option if you want your phone to ring first.
iPhone
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Phone (on older iOS, Settings then Phone).
- Tap Call Forwarding and switch it on. If you use two SIMs, choose your business line first.
- Tap Forward To and enter the number calls should go to.
- Go back. A forwarding icon shows in the status bar while it is on.
Android
- Open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
- Tap Calls (or Supplementary services, depending on the phone), then Call forwarding.
- Choose When unanswered so your phone rings first and only missed calls move on.
- Enter the number, tap Turn on, and pick the right SIM if asked.
If the code doesn't work
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
The network did not accept the request. Check you have signal, turn off Wi-Fi calling and aeroplane mode, then dial the code again exactly as shown.
"Setting activation failed" or "unsuccessful"
The network refused the divert. Some plans block diverts to other numbers, and some networks want the number in international form. Check the notes on this page, or set it up in your phone settings instead.
Calls still go to voicemail
Voicemail is itself a divert, and only one can be active for each condition. Setting a new divert replaces the voicemail one. If calls still reach voicemail, cancel all diverts and set yours again.
