To divert calls you don't answer on a BT landline, lift the handset and dial *61*, the number, then #. BT moves the call on after 15 seconds. Dial #61# to switch it off.

Ring your number from another phone without answering it. Check that the destination receives the call. To turn it off later, dial #61#.

What to know about call divert on BT
BT Digital Voice
The codes still work after the move to Digital Voice, from any handset plugged into your BT Hub. Digital Voice handsets also have a menu for it: Calling Features, then Call Diversion, then Set Up. The My BT app shows which calling features are switched on, but you set the divert number from the phone.
How to tell a divert is on
On a BT Business line you hear an intermittent dial tone while a divert is set. If you also use Call Minder, that tone means a new message instead. Dial *#61# to check for certain.
Smart Divert for BT Business
BT Business also sells Smart Divert, which lets you change a divert remotely by calling an access number with a PIN. Its codes are different (44 all calls, 64 unanswered, 65 engaged) and it has a 3-month minimum term.

Lift the handset and dial *21*, your mobile number, then # to send every call to your mobile. To have the landline ring first, use *61* instead, so only unanswered calls move to your mobile.
How do I turn off call diversion on BT?
Dial #61# to cancel the no-answer divert, #21# for the all-calls divert and #67# for the busy divert. BT does not publish a single code that cancels them all, so use the one that matches the divert you set.
How much does BT Call Diversion cost?
On BT Home Phone the feature is included. You pay for the diverted part of each call at your normal home phone rate unless inclusive minutes cover it, and diverts to BT mobiles and BT home phones are free. On BT Business lines Call Diversion is a paid add-on.
Does call diversion work on BT Digital Voice?
Yes. BT says the * and # codes work from handsets connected to your Hub, and Digital Voice handsets have a Call Diversion option under Calling Features.
